Episode 432 - Zach Mack, Alphabet City Beer Co.

Happy Monday, Thieves! We’re talking to our friend Zach Mack of Alphabet City Beer Co. today. We’ve been fans of ABC for ages - we actually recorded an early episode of the podcast there with Jason Perkins of Allagash way back in the day — so it was a pleasure to have Zach on to talk about the history of the bar and how beer has changed in the 11+ years he’s been open in the East Village. Fun, nostalgic talk with some tomato sandwich and mayonnaise opinions tossed in, to boot. Tune in and let us know what you think!

Episode 421 - Dustin Baker, Roadmap Brewing

Episode 421 - Dustin Baker, Roadmap Brewing

Happy Monday, Thieves! Closing out Little Beer in Georgia we're joined by Dustin Baker of Roadmap Brewing.

Says Dustin: "With some help and guidance from fellow San Antonio brewers, Roadmap Brewing Co. opened September of 2018 with one employee (besides my wife and I). This ultimately meant that my role from the start has covered everything from head brewer and bar back to construction supervisor, bookkeeper, janitor, social media director, or event planner. As Roadmap has grown, we’ve continued to run a tight ship – meaning that my role as “jack of all trades” has largely remained. An all encompassing role I admit I enjoy and one that will likely never change. I can still be found in production and occasionally behind the bar."

Hear how the beer laws in Texas are making Augie jealous and drink along with us in the black glass as we talk about caves and hops. Tune in and let us know what you think!

They say: "As an estate brewery that’s Farming for Fermentation, we have the opportunity through ingredients and methods to create beer unique to Wheatland Spring that reflects the agricultural character of our farm and growing region. We call this Land Beer."

And the brewery and farm is open for tours and tasting. Listen in as our sojourn to the south during the Little Beer festival continues.

Episode 417 - Bolero Snort 2023 (not an April Fools' Episode)

Episode 417 - Bolero Snort 2023 (not an April Fools' Episode)

Happy Monday, Thieves! We’re finally through all the Miami episodes, hallelujah. That was quite a streak, and big shout out to Holl for putting those together and getting Augie through it all. They’re headed down to Good Word’s Little Beer festival in Duluth, GA, this weekend, so say hello if you spot ‘em in the crowd. They’re going to record a couple of episodes there, too, but it won’t be eight like at Wakefest. (again, hallelujah.) We should be back to our Zoom recordings in a few weeks.

Anyway, as you may know we did an April Fools’ spoof episode a couple of weeks ago. (A bad one, admittedly.) But afterward, Bob & Scott from Bolero stuck around and we record an actual episode where we discussed real ongoing topics including some NJ beer law news among other things. No black glasses here as it came together last minute. So tune in and let us know what you think!

Episode 416 - Cory Meyer and Derek Gallanosa, Moksa Brewing

Episode 416 - Cory Meyer and Derek Gallanosa, Moksa Brewing

Happy Monday, Thieves! We almost made it out of Miami unscathed. On our final morning in the city, and just hours before Wakefest is set to kick off we sit down with Cory Meyer and Derek Gallanosa of Moksa Brewing. The duo talk cocktail beers, whole ingredients, their fellow California breweries, and their relationship to the Sacramento Kings. Augie's battered. Holl is literally bruised. Everyone is hungover. Tune in and let us know what you think!
