Episode 502 - Wayne Wambles, Griffon & Sphynx Brewing

Happy Monday, Thieves! We’re catching up with an old friend of the show today. Wayne Wambles was the head brewer at Cigar City Brewing way back when we used to record at Hunahpu's Day (RIP). He’s responsible for some of the most well know beers out there, including the fest’s namesake stout, and has left a significant imprint on the craft beer industry. Fast forward almost a decade and Wayne is now running his own brewery in the hills outside of Asheville, North Carolina. We talk about his journey through multiple Cigar City ownerships and how he came to buy a small brewery to make his own. As always, it’s a good listen with some fun beers in the black glass.
